#1 Michigan falls to #3 Indiana

Big college basketball game last night and once again, #1 has fallen.  We have already had at least five different #1’s in college basketball this year and we will have another one on Monday, although this time it might be a former number one becoming so again.  Oh, wait, that has  already happened once with Duke.  OK, back to the game on ESPN last night, 1 Michigan goes down to 3 Indiana in Assembly Hall, 81 – 73.  Indiana led for almost the entire game, yet Michigan hung around, always ready to pounce and take the lead if the opportunity arose.  It never quite did.  With 2 Kansas falling at home to Oklahoma State, 85 – 80, and 6 Syracuse and 10 Oregon both losing (all three of these teams lost to unranked opponents), it stands to reason Indiana will likely be back at #1 in Monday’s college basketball polls.  Do not expect anyone to stay there for too long, Big Ten is very competitive, Duke is still great, watch out for Miami (only undefeated in ACC) and it is just so doggone hard to win on the road!

P.S. I think I may have spotted John Mellencamp in the house at Assembly Hall, did not have a Meg Ryan sighting, but she could have been there as well.  Not absolutely sure, but I thought I did get a glimpse of John in his normal corner seat.
