Draft Day and day two from the Masters

Hey guys!  Saw a really good movie today (it has been awhile), Draft Day starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner and others.  Kevin Costner knows how to do a great sports movie…think Field of Dreams and For Love of the Game.  This one is about football (of course), not baseball, and it is wonderful.  It is set in Cleveland, a town that is all about its sports teams (gee LeBron, they still miss you!) and also about a family and their longtime involvement in football and with the organization.  More importantly, it is about a man following his convictions, listening to his gut, going after the right guy and making the right choices for the right reasons, and learning about himself and others along the way.  It is feel good, inspirational and only an hour and 40 minutes long!  Jen Garner does a wonderful job as his partner in life and in the organization, a lawyer and a woman with a high level job in the management of an NFL franchise.  Don’t want to give it all away, just go a see if for yourselves if so inclined.  Really enjoyable movie with a great message, uplifting and encouraging!  I sure came out with a bounce in my step!!

Meanwhile, day two from the Masters in Augusta, GA is complete.  Bubba Watson (winner in 2012) put on a clinic, making five birdies in a row on the back nine to surge to the top of the leaderboard at -7.  John Senden sits in second at -4.  T. Bjorn, Adam Scott (last year’s winner of the green jacket), Jordan Spieth all are at -3 and the ageless Freddie Couples and Jimmy Walker are at -2 along with Jim Furyk.  Freddie knows how to play this course!  Rory Mcilroy struggled and finished at +4, barely making the cut.  Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker are E (even par) and Phil Mickelson missed the cut by one, finishing a disappointing +5.  Still tough to watch and know Tiger Woods is MIA.  Even Lefty remarked that is was just “weird” that Tiger wasn’t there.  Round three continues tomorrow with live coverage beginning at 3:00 pm EST.  Great weather is forecast for the weekend!
