Everybody take a deep breath…and here we go…

Deep breath, you know, yoga breath, now this afternoon’s results are in:  WOW, what a day it has been so far, with so much more to come tonight!!!

The ACC is currently 0 for 3 against the SEC.  GT fell earlier to UGA (hate to bring that nightmare up again) and FSU has fallen to Florida, 37 – 26.  10 FSU turned the ball over 4 times yet still took control of the game in the second half, only to see 4 Florida come storming back.  In a barnburner, 13 Oklahoma won over 21 Oklahoma State in OT, 51 – 48, dashing the hopes of former number 1 Kansas State and Collin Klein for an at large BCS berth.  5 Oregon (my “other” team) rolled over 15 Oregon State, 48 – 24.  Now, I am in a pickle.  I really like Stanford, but for Oregon to have a shot at the Pac 12 Championship game, I need 8 Stanford to lose to 17 UCLA tonight.  Right now, not looking like that is going to happen, as Stanford is up 21 – 10.  Still, a ways to go.  2 Alabama cruised right into the SEC Championship game next weekend with a big win over hapless Auburn, 49 – 0.  In Big East action (if anyone really cares), Pitt upset 18 Rutgers, 27 – 6; and in a thrilling game, U Conn defeated 20 Louisville in triple OT, 23 – 20.

A few other ACC finals: North Carolina over Maryland, 45 – 38; N C State defeated Boston College, 27 – 10; and in yet another SEC victory over the ACC, Vanderbilt over Wake Forest, 55 – 21.

Tonight, Stanford and UCLA, Clemson and South Carolina (the last hope for the ACC, but I really like the ole ball coach Steve Spurrier), Missouri and 9 Texas A & M (is Johnny Manziel the new Heisman frontrunner???), and finally 1 Notre Dame will attempt to punch their ticket to the BCS Championship game at USC (starting redshirt freshman QB Matt Wittek in place of the injured Matt Barkley).

Don’t you just love College Football!!!
