Half time in Detroit, will records be made?

MNF on Saturday in Detroit and it is halftime with the Falcons leading the Lions, 21 – 6.  Matt Ryan passed for 22 consecutive completions (ten last week against the Giants, first twelve tonight) and has three touchdowns, two to Roddy White, one to Julio Jones.  Matt went 12/12 before having an incompletion.  Calvin Johnson has 117 reception yards, and he needs a mere 65 more to break the single season record for reception yards held by Jerry Rice.  He also set a record with eight consecutive games with 100 plus receiving yards.

Will the record fall tonight?  It is possible but the Falcons appear on their way to win number 13 and taking the NFC number one seed in the playoffs. (They can also accomplish this with a win next weekend).

Oh, did I speak too soon.  Falcons lead 21 – 13 at end of 3rd with Detroit in the redzone.  Megatron needs four (4)! more yards to break record!!  Will it happen?  YES!  Calvin Johnson breaks record!  Congrats to Megatron!  Falcons lead 31 – 16 with just over two minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Stay tuned…back later or tomorrow with final and more sports news!
