It’s Surviving “Paradise” day on Wednesday 1/15/14

Happy Wednesday everyone, hump day!  This is that wonderful day of the week on which I promote my book Surviving “Paradise” by Susan Willoch Shaver.  It is available at Amazon.com for $8.99 in paperback, $4.99 in kindle edition, and $4.99 at Barnes and Noble nook.  Follow the hilarious tale of a southern woman who relocates to a new town in southwest Florida only to be met by a ridiculous set of people and circumstances.  Entertaining, full of both drama and comedy, it is a surefire way to get a good laugh and relax during these cold, dreary winter days (for those of us who do not live in sunny California!)  Surviving Paradise

Speaking of sunshine…the Australian Open, the first tennis Grand Slam of the year is well underway and the temperatures have been HOT to say the least, ranging from 105 to 108 degrees during the day!  Roger Federer will play in second round match on the 16th against Blaz Kavcic.  He will be the 4th match on Hisense Arena.  Interestingly, both Nadal and Murray will also play their second round matches tomorrow, both on the center court..Rod Laver Arena.  Oh well…anyhow, looking forward to seeing Roger play match number two.  The real challenge is figuring out which telecast is live coverage and when, given the time difference.  Coverage switches back and forth between ESPN2 and Tennis Channel.  Supposedly, a “cold front” is expected to arrive down under this weekend and the second week of play will enjoy cooler temperatures…in the (gasp!) seventies!

Couple of upsets in College Basketball last night, Indiana upset previously unbeaten 3 Wisconsin and Arkansas defeated 13 Kentucky on a buzzer beating dunk off a missed shot.  Sadly, ESPNU showed the Georgia Tech vs. 22 Pitt game.  The Jackets fell, 81-74.  They did make it interesting coming down the stretch.

Tonight, a new episode of ABC drama Nashville airs at 10:00 pm EST.

Until later…
