NBA playoffs continue and last night the NY Knicks hammered the Pacers in Madison Square Garden, 105 – 79 to even this series at 1-1. Melo finished with 27 points. In the West, Memphis edged out OKC on the road, 99 – 93. The victory was fueled by point guard Mike Conley who led the Grizzlies on a late run and finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Big night for Kevin Durant of OKC in losing effort, 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. This series is now tied at 1-1 with game three on Sunday in Memphis. OKC is definitely missing Russell Westbrook (injured and out for the playoffs).
Tonight, Chicago is back in Miami for game two with a surprising 1-0 lead. Will Derek Rose play? A lot of chatter and controversy over whether he should suit up or not, still recovering from knee injury. Been over a year, so I don’t know. Kobe would play on one leg but hey, that is Kobe. I am sure he and his doctor know best so we shall wait and see… Also, late game will feature Golden State led by Steph Curry at San Antonio, trailing in the series 0-1.
NBA Coach of the Year honor goes to George Karl of the Denver Nuggets. Also, the rumor mill says Phil Jackson is not interested in the Nets head coaching position. Why would he be, especially if he can go back to the Lakers? Um…just saying, another one of those wait and see what happens deals!
