Last MNF game on Saturday in Detroit! (vs. Atlanta)

The last Monday Night Football game of this season will be…Saturday in Detroit.  The Falcons (12 – 2 ) will face the Detroit Lions and attempt to win and secure the number one seed in the NFC and home field advantage for the playoffs.  MegaTron, Calvin Johnson of Detroit will be playing against the team from his hometown (former Georgia Tech great) as he continues on his quest to break Jerry Rice’s record for reception yards in a single season.  Hope the Falcons win, and also hope Calvin breaks the record.  He needs 182 yards and has this game and then the final regular season game to get it done.  Probably won’t happen on Saturday vs. Atlanta, but I think he will accomplish the milestone.  GO FALCONS! GO MEGATRON!

RG III of the Washington Redskins appears to be healed and is expected to start this Sunday against the Eagles (who will not be starting Michael Vick).  Interesting race going on in the NFC East, with the Redskins, Giants, and Cowboys all at 8 – 6.  Which of these teams will make the playoffs?  This Sunday the Redskins face the Eagles, the Cowboys will deal with Drew Brees and the Saints, and in the late afternoon, Eli and the Giants will face the Baltimore Ravens.  Going to go right down to the final game of the season next weekend most likely.

Now I know its is early, and I am getting way ahead of myself here, but I just want to throw this out there.  What about  Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos vs. Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons for the Superbowl match up?  Sounds kind of wonderful to me.
