Manic Sunday in NFL so far…

It has been and wild and crazy day in NFL action today so far, and the day is not over!!

One of the better games was the Washington at New York game.  The Giants win 27-23 with Eli Manning doing what he does best, leading his team down the field for the winning score.  If you could pick one QB to have the ball with the game on the line, would you not pick Eli right now?  (Plus, I like his perm!!, see earlier post!!)

Baltimore at Houston was a blowout, Houston running away with the game 43-13.  The Tennessee Titans staged an exciting come from behind victory over Buffalo, 35-34.  Minnesota prevailed over the Cardinals (without starting QB Kevin Kolb) 21-14.  Andrew Luck and the Colts defeated the Browns 17-13 and the Cowboys kicked two field goals to beat Cam Newton and the Panthers 19-14.  Perhaps one of the craziest finishes today so far was in Tampa Bay, where Drew Brees and the Saints won 35-28.  The game see sawed back and forth and with time running out, a potential game winning touchdown pass for the Bucs (pending the extra point) was ruled no TD as the receiver had gone out of bounds and then come back in to be the first person to touch the ball.  Had the ball been tipped, it would have counted.  Brees threw 4 TD passes and Josh Freeman for the Bucs had over 400 yards passing.  Also, the Packers beat the Rams 30-20 so no “trap game” there, as some had predicted.  In the post game interview, Aaron Rodgers urged everyone to keep picking against the Packers, and they would keep coming back and winning!

The Atlanta Falcons, only undefeated team in the NFL, are idle this week.

The Patriots and the Jets are underway with New England up 14-7 in the 2nd quarter.  Tonight the Steelers play at the Bengals.

At 7:00 NLCS coverage begins with the Giants back home, facing yet another elimination game.
