Well guys, this is the fourth time I have written this post! It has gone out into the world of nether land each and every time as there has been a problem with the server since Sunday night. Hopefully, this is a problem that is fixed and gone for good! So…as you all know, I love Peyton Manning (and I also love Roger Federer). Two champions, two completely class acts! Mr. Manning and the Broncos returned to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy Sunday night (otherwise know as the “house that Peyton built”) and fell to Andrew Luck and Indy, 39 – 33. It was of course an emotional return for Petyon who spent fourteen seasons with the Colts, drated as their number one pick out of the University of Tennessee. he would loved to have played his entire career as a Colt, but circumstances intervened and that is not the way things evolved. He is now a Bronco and happy to be one. The Colts were the steadier team last night, I believe the Broncos are the better team, but the Colts built a nice lead by midway through the second half. Maning brought the Broncos back, almost all the way, but came up a bit short. Would really loved to have seen Peyton return and the Broncos win, especially in light of remarks made during the week by Colts owner, Jim Irsay (I like to call him “that other guy”). Anyhow, not to worry, Petyon and the Broncos will have an outstanding year after suffering their first loss of the season (now 6 -1, Colts 5 – 2) and will be a force to be reckoned with once the playoffs come around.
Moving on to another classy guy and champion, Roger Federer played his first match on Monday since announcing his split with coach of three years, Paul Annacone (totally amicable). Federer defeated Frenchman A. Mannarino 6 – 4, 6 – 2 at the Swiss Indoor Tournament in his hometwon of Basel. Hopefully Roger can finish out what has been a dismal year in style (Paris Masters 1000 and year end tournament in London) and head into next year ready to give us some magical moments in tennis that only Roger Federer is capable of!
