How about those Spurs!

How about those Spurs!!  San Antonio ran away from the Heat in Miami (again) last night winning game four, 107-86.  They led at the half, 55-36 after leading earlier, 53-23!  Can we say Champions??  OK, calm down, maybe a bit early (or not) but game five will be in San Antonio on Sunday night and the Spurs can take the title if they win this game at home.  Dominating performance by the Spurs from the opening tip.  Kawhi Leonard had 20 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, 3 steals, and 3 assists.  Is anyone else thinking finals MVP?  LeBron did his part for the Heat scoring 28 points but he had no help from his teammates.  When you really look at the show, you have to see that the Spurs have a better, deeper team!  GO SPURS!!!

Moving to tennis in Halle, Germany (the Gerry Weber Open), Roger Federer advanced into the semifinals thanks to a walkover by Yen Lu (back issue).  But, being Roger Federer, he played an exhibition match against German player, Christopher Kas.  Hey, Federer needs the grass court action and is, of course, aware of the people who bought tickets to see him play.  He will face Nishikori in tomorrow’s semi and it should be one heck of a match.  Dustin Brown, the German player who literally wiped #1 Rafael Nadal off the court fell to P. Kolschreiber in three sets, losing in a third set tie break (18-16).  Kolschreiber will face A. Falla in the other semifinal.  So as far as the “Big Four” goes…pre-Wimbledon, Nadal loses, Murray loses in England, Djokovic is resting, and Federer is in action and winning!  Footnote: Roger Federer has won this event six times already.

US Open Golf Championship is continuing with round two today.  Martin Kaymer is pretty much dominating the field, last I checked at -10.  Kevin Na in second at -4.  When I found out Mr. Federer was through into the semifinals, I went to see 22 Jump Street.  Very funny, silly and entertaining movie.  Light fare, love Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.  After all, just under a couple of hours of watching Channing Tatum is never a bad afternoon.

Enjoy your Friday evening!
