Stanford prevails in the Rose Bowl

Stanford wins the Rose Bowl over Wisconsin in a hard fought, close game, 20 – 14.  It marks the first time Sanford has won the Rose Bowl since 1972.  Congratulations to Coach David Shaw and Stanford.  They are still trying to make believers of the media and the national polls that they are in fact an elite program.  They play power offense and great defense.  I am a believer!  Interestingly, Wisconsin was coached by their AD Barry Alvarez who was 3 – 0 in bowl games as a coach prior to this meeting.  Wisconsin has at least seven coaches from their staff headed elsewhere at the end of this season.  Very close game and an interception by the defensive player of the game Usua Amanam sealed the deal for the Cardinals in the 4th quarter.  (No first downs in the 3rd quarter, that is how hard fought a defensive struggle this game was).

Isn’t it a beautiful setting in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl?

Now we await the outcome of the Orange Bowl between 12 FSU and 15 Northern Illinois to wrap up New Year’s Day Bowl games for 2013!
