Surviving “Paradise” on Wednesday and some sports news

It is Wednesday, Surviving “Paradise” the book day on this website and blog.  Please check out this funny and entertaining story about a southern woman who relocates to southwest Florida only to be met by a ridiculous set of people and circumstances.  For example, how about criminal Bulgarian neighbors, a horny, inappropriate copy, his jealous, bitchy wife (perhaps well founded?), other obnoxious neighbors and a mean and nasty homeowners’ association President (Redneck Prez) along with many hilarious misadventures and encounters.  It is available at Amazon.com f0r $8.99 in paperback, $4.99 in kindle edition and also for $4.99 at Barnes and Noble nook.   It is sure to bring a smile, a chuckle and perhaps even an OMG!

Moving on to the world of sports…Roger Federer came from one set down to defeat D. Istomin at the Swiss Indoors Tournament, 4 – 6, 6 – 3, 6 – 2.  Whew…I though for a moment, “oh no, please not again” but he rallied to win and advances at his hometown tournament in Basel.  Also winning today, Del Potro, Dodig, and Lloydra who took out Richard Gasquet which incidentally helps Roger Federer in his attempt to secure a spot in the year end finals in London.

In MLB news…the World Series gets underway tonight from Fenway Park in Boston.  The Red Sox will take on the St. Louis Cardinals.  The weather could be a factor, temperature in the 50’s along with some light rain, and then there are those lovely Red Sox fans for the Cards to deal with.  Should be a great series, hope it goes seven.  And how about those Red Sox, going from last to first in a year!  Speaking of going from last to first…

The Kansas City Chiefs under new head coach Andy Reid (longtime head coach with the Philadelphia Eagles) are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL.  This is happening with discarded San Francisco 49er QB Alex Smith at the helm as well.  Now, the Chiefs are for real but they will have to face the Denver Broncos twice this year.  Speaking of Denver, coming off their first loss of the season in Indy (boo!), Peyton Manning did not practice today due to an ankle injury.  He is expected to practice tomorrow!

Nashville returns tonight on ABC at 10:00 pm EST in all its drama and/or glory, depending on how one views it.  Another juicy show is Betrayal on Sunday evenings at 10:00 pm EST, also on ABC.

Until later…
