Tiger falters, Rory surges as rain halts play at Memorial

Tiger Woods had a very bad day at the Memorial Golf Tournament, teeing off in the am along with Keegan Bradley and Freddie Couples.  He had one double bogey and finished with a score of 74, +1, nine strokes behind the current leader, Bill Haas (-9).  Couples shot a 75 to finish at +2 (the current projected cut) and Bradley also shot 74 to finish along side Tiger at +1.  Rory Mcilroy was flirting with missing the cut but managed to make 5 birdies in fourteen holes and stands at +2 on the 15th hole.  Play was suspended and will not resume until tomorrow am.  The current leaderboard is: Bill Haas -9, Matt Kuchar -6, Charles Schwartzel -6 (15), Bubba Watson – 6 (14), Kyle Stanley -6 (13), Scott Stallings – 5 (13), Robert Karlsson -4 (14), and Charlie Wie -4 (12).  Six players are at -3, half of them finished, half of them still on the course.

Tomorrow, coverage will resume early on Golf Channel and then continue at 3:00 pm EST on CBS.  Will have to wait and see if Rory can get it done and make the cut.  Then, can Tiger go out and shoot a round in the 60’s to try and gain some ground on the leaders?  Also, the forecast is not particularly favorable, thunderstorms throughout the weekend.  They might be playing golf at Jack’s house into Monday!
