Well I saw a chick flick today…The Other Woman starring Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. Had it marked on my calendar…liked it but can’t say I loved it! Sure, it is funny, Leslie Mann is at her best (Think This Is What 40 Looks Like and others) and Cameron Diaz is the champion of the girlfriend clique (think her and gal pal Drew Barrymore in Charlie’s Angels remake and real life!), but it is also a bit cliche. There are some great laughs, some very predictable outcomes, and yes, the “husband” is a total douche bag!! Then, Kate Upton brings her, shall we say “assets” to the the screen, need she bring more? All in all, fun entertainment, take your girlfriend(s) or go by yourself, kind of doubt your significant other will be really stoked to see this move. There were some “guys” in the theater, however.
Almost wish I had seen The Grand Budapest Hotel. Next time…
Moving on to sports news..what is up with the Indiana Pacers? I was so excited that they beat out Miami for the #1 seed in the East. They were such a great defensive team throughout the year…and now…I don’t know but it is not pretty!
In tennis action from Barcelona, Rafael Nadal was upset in three sets by fellow Spaniard Almagro, 2-6, 7-6, 6-4. Rafa has looked very vulnerable in 2014. And this is on his beloved clay!! He went out way too early at Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo and now in Barcelona? He has over 5000 points to defend from this tournament through the French Open and that has got to put pressure on even the best. Sure does open the door for the likes of Djokovic (if his wrist is healthy), Stan “the man” Wawrinka, and Mr. Federer (if Mirka is not giving birth to their third child) at Roland Garros. We shall see..
