Shock waves in College Football late this afternoon, 15 Texas A & M upsets 1 Alabama 29 – 24. No A J to T J this week. I was a week early in my upset prediction. A J McCarron had two interceptions and T J Yeldon fumbled as Johnny “Football” Manziel and the Aggies shocked the football world. Manziel had over 300 yards of offense and the Aggies had a goal line stand along with the second interception of McCarron as Bama was driving for a game winning TD and Alabama is undefeated no more. They can still win the SEC west, but their hopes of a shot at a second national championship are dim. Notre Dame, Oregon and Kansas State would need to lose a game for that to likely happen. This is probably not going to be the year that a one loss SEC team will surpass an unbeaten to get into the BCS Championship. Tremendous performance by Texas A & M, and is freshman sensation Johnny Manziel now in the Heisman talk???
In other action, 19 USC rebounds to bury Arizona State University 33 – 17; 16 Nebraska comes from behind to defeat Penn State 32 – 23; 13 Clemson rolls over Maryland, 45 – 10, although Sammy Watkins did leave in the 3rd quarter with an injury; 12 Oklahoma prevailed over Baylor 42 -34; and in the other big late afternoon game, 14 Stanford defeated 11 Oregon State, 27 -23. This sets up a huge game next weekend as Stanford will travel to Eugene to take on 3 Oregon.
Currently in action: 5 UGA at Auburn, 2 Kansas State at TCU ( and Collin Klein is playing), and 21 Miss State at 7 LSU.
At 8:00 pm EST, 4 Notre Dame takes on Boston College. 10:30 pm EST, 3 Oregon plays at California and 18 UCLA will face Washington State.
It has been quite a day, and it is not over yet!!!
