How I Met Your Mother

Everyone catch How I Met Your Mother last night?  There were two back-to-back episodes, and Barney proposed to Robin.  Did we see this coming a few years back?  Wonder if we will ever find out who “the mother” is, ie., Ted’s wife?  Maybe, or maybe not.  If we did, would that be the end of the show?

Thanks to Padriac’s!

A big thanks to Padriac’s, my first banner advertiser!  Padriac’s is on Cumberland Parkway in Atlanta, right near the historic Vinings area.  The food, the service and the staff are amazing.  I enjoyed a mid day meal there today, could not have been better.  Everyone check it out if you have not already.  You will be glad you did!

Welcome back Pau Gasol!

The Lakers will take on the Charlotte Bobcats tonight in LA, going for three wins in a row!!  WOW, Get her done, Lakers!  Also, Pau Gasol is expected to start tonight after sitting out eight games due to tendinitis in both knees.  Welcome back Pau.  Remember, I like Pau Gasol, and I want you to like him too!

Speaking of the Lakers, does anyone else think Dwight Howard looks odd in the purple Lakers uniform?  I do not know what it is, maybe it is the purple headband, it just looks kind of off.  I like Dwight, love him in LA, but something has just not looked quite right when I watch him.  Hopefully, it is one of those things you just have to get accustomed to!

Breaking NFL news…

The New York Jets have reportedly decided to bench QB Mark Sanchez after last night’s disappointing loss to Tennessee and will start former Alabama QB Greg McElroy next weekend.  The Jets were eliminated from playoff contention with last night’s loss.  Sanchez had four interceptions.  Tim Tebow will be “incorporated into the offensive scheme”?  OK, guess we will wait and see how that works out.

2012 Sexiest Man Alive is going to be a “Daddy”!

Monday night sports update…

Syracuse defeats Detroit, 72 – 68 (a bit closer than expected) making Jim Boeheim the third coach to reach 900 career coaching wins, joining Bob Knight (Indiana) and Mike Krzyzewski (Duke).  Congrats!

Georgia Tech defeated Alabama State 75 – 40 in what looked like an exhibition game.  Solomon Poole was in action tonight, and his brother, Stacey, will become eligible tomorrow.  That is a good thing.  The Jackets will need all the talent they can put together as ACC action will begin in January 2013!

In Linsanity’s return to Madison Square Garden, Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets roll the Knicks (without Melo, sprained ankle), 109 – 96.  Lin had 22 points in his return.

MNF: 3rd quarter action, Tennessee leads the Jets, 7 – 3.  Final score: Tennessee 14 – Jets 10.  Mark Sanchez throws four interceptions (ouch!) and the Jets are eliminated from post season play.

MNF – New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans

Monday Night Football – New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans.  Sorry folks, cannot get really get excited about this game.  Anyhow, a loss by the Jets will eliminate them from play-off contention.  We shall see.

Personally, I am more interested in Lin’s return to Madison Square Garden, and even, the Georgia Tech vs. Alabama State basketball game.

This of course does not include How I Met Your Mother, Two Broke Girls and Mike and Molly.  Oh well, never fear, I will report on the outcomes!

Georgia Tech basketball news…

Georgia Tech will host Alabama State tonight in basketball.  They have received good news regarding the Poole brothers.  Solomon Poole has been ruled eligible by the NCAA to begin playing this season.  He is the younger brother of Stacey Poole, Jr., a transfer from Kentucky, who also becomes eligible to play for the Jackets next week.

This is the first brother tandem to play for the Jackets in basketball since Drew and Jon Barry.  Good news for the Jackets!
