Golden Globe Nominations are out…

The Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning.  Interesting!  The movies nominated in the Drama category were: Argo (yes!), Lincoln, Life of Pi, Zero Dark Thirty, and Django Unchained.  A couple of these movies have not yet come out, but are on their way, ie. Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty (with the wonderful Jessica Chastain).  Really pulling for Argo!  It is the only one of these I have seen so far.

Comedy/Musical Category: Les Miserables, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (on Demand now), Moonrise Kingdom, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and Silver Linings Playbook.  Have to admit, I have not seen any of these yet, but I really want to see Silver Linings Playbook.  I have heard nothing but great things about it.

Also of note, Ben Affleck did not receive a nod as actor for Argo.  WOW, really?  Both Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence of Silver Linings Playbook were nominated in their respective categories.

OK, next post will be about sports, I promise…

Love you/Mean it…

Got you thinking there didn’t I??  Well, I am referring to the new talk show by Whitney Cummings which airs on E Channel at 10:30 pm EST on Wednesdays just before Chelsea Lately. It is called Love You/Mean It with Whitney Cummings.  I got a chance to see it the other night.  Her guest was Will Farrell.  First of all, how can you not love that!  Plus, I love Whitney!!  I watch her 8:00 pm show Whitney, as those of you who follow me will note from an earlier post.  Anyhow, I thought her new talk show was great, modeled a bit after her BFF Chelsea Handler.  I really like Whitney, I think she is hilarious.  I even tried to send my book to her at CAA (largest talent agency in LA) but of course, it was returned because they do not read material that is not solicited from an agent.  You know what, you have have to try!  I think Whitney would get my sense of humor in this book.

I recommend her new show, Love You/Mean It as well as Whitney!!  Are you reading Whitney Cummings???

Kobe vs. Mello on tonight from MSG!

Good game (hopefully) tonight from Madison Square Garden as Kobe Bryant and the struggling L A Lakers visit NYC to play Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks.  These two are ,of course, former Olympic Gold Medal Teammates.

Kobe loves to play in New York, having scored 61 points in the Garden in 2009.  The Lakers are 1 – 5 in their past six games, while the Knicks are 8 – 0 at home.  It will also mark the return of Coach D’Antoni to Madison Square Garden.

There could be no better showcase than this game for the Lakers to get things going in another direction.  We will wait and see if that happens!

Say good bye to another GT receiver?

ESPN alert this am that WR Jeff Greene is no longer with the team (Georgia Tech) according to his high school coach.  There goes another one, just as GT prepares to face USC in Hyundai Sun Bowl.

Great NBA game last night between Celtics and Mavs, Celtics win 117 – 115 in double OT.  Anyone notice the Celtics are providing us with a lot of close exciting games so far this season?  (Not to mention some other drama as well…see post Rumble in Boston)

It’s still Wednesday…

It’s still Wednesday, so I can plug my book one more time, courtesy of Barbara Walters!!  After announcing the choice for 2012’s Most Fascinating Person, General David Petraeus, Barbara commented in closing, “When you are in Florida, crazy things can happen there”.

Very true..please check out my book Surviving “Paradise”!

Interesting show tonight.  Very impressed with Seth MacFarlane (a genius), Ben Affleck, Governor Chris Christie, Gabby  Douglas.  And the choice of David Petraeus, well he received the honor a couple of years ago, but under different circumstances.

Until tomorrow…
