A day late but hopefully not a dollar short…

I decided that Wednesday was going to be “shameless plug” of my book day!  Well, I am a day late but hopefully not a dollar short.  Sort of like “naked Wednesday”, or “casual Friday”, on each Wednesday I am going to give a shout out to my book, Surviving “Paradise”  If you guys are enjoying my blog, and my own unique and sometime quirky sense of humor, please check out my book Surviving “Paradise”!!!!  It is available at Amazon.com for $9.99 in paperback and $3.03 in kindle edition.  It is truly a very funny story of neighborhood mayhem in southwest Florida.  My temporary website is www.survivingparadise.us and it will soon join this blog at my domain (survivingparadise.info).  Please check it out, you will not be disappointed!!!

Thanks guys, and next up will be the ever popular College Football weekend preview.  Also, a review of the movie Flight coming out tomorrow starring the brilliant DenSurviving "Paradise"zel Washington and the incomparable Don Cheadle.  I will see it and give you my take.  Stay tuned….

Whitney is coming back…

In other TV news, the show Whitney with the hilarious Whitney Cummings will be returning in two weeks on Wednesday nights.  I thought this show was cancelled.  I am so glad it is not, I love her!

Also, Tim Allen and Last Man Standing returns tomorrow night along with Reba McIntyre in her new show Malibu Country.  So glad to know Last Man Standing is coming back.  Also, Reba is so funny, this will bring some levity to a drab Friday night lineup (unless you want to tune into ESPN classics and watch the never too many re-runs of Friday Night Lights!

Teddy has a secret…

Oh, the drama of it all.  The new show Nashville, is just full of juicy secrets and drama, many of them still unfolding and many of them still hidden.  Last night, we find that Teddy, the husband of Rayna James (played by the wonderful Connie Britton) who is running for mayor of Nashville, has a secret of some sort, and it appears in the character played by Kimberly Williams-Paisley (wife of Brad Paisley).  This show is something else and though I did not want to get interested in another show, well I think I am a goner!  The dynamics of this show about  a control freak southern family and its money and all the ilk that can sometimes involve, well it is good!!  Better to watch on TV than experience in real life, you think?

Thursday sports tid bits…

Well, the new look Lakers are now 0 -2, so yes people it is now about two games.  They fell to the Portland Trailblazers last night, 116-106.  Kobe had 30 points, Dwight Howard had 33 points and 14 rebounds and Steve Nash had a very strange collision with Portland’s Lillard and later had to leave the game for good with a lower leg contusion.  These guys appear to be struggling  a bit as far as learning how to properly mesh their enormous talents and play together.  I would expect time to work this out.  That being said, LA is LA and falling short of a “blockbuster” type of performance will not fly in the land of major hits and stars.  It will not take long for Laker nation to push the panic button and the most likely casualty would be Coach Mike Brown.  Wait and see, it is still very early…

In some tennis news, another top seed bites the dust in Paris, this time on the indoor hard court of the Paris Masters 1000 Event.  3 Andy Murray fell to Janowicz, 7 -5, 6 -7, 2 -6.  That means both Djokovic and Murray (two of the big three) are already out of the Paris Masters event.  Meanwhile, Roger Federer, who chose to rest and withdraw, has been wining and dining his wife Mirka and playing with the twins!  They will all reconvene next week in London for the ATP Year End Final.  (GO ROGER, sorry I simply cannot stop myself!)

Thursday Night Football action will offer an important ACC College Football game, Virginia Tech at Miami.  They both have had their ups and downs this season, but in spite of that, the winner of tonight’s game will be the front runner to win the Coastal Division.  Not really sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

NFL action will offer Kansas City (1-6) at San Diego (3-4).   I think of the two, the college game is more appealing.

Something for the girls…

This is for all the girls out there.  It is chick flick report time!!  Just watched a movie on Hallmark Channel, Good Witch’s Charm, the fifth installment in this charming series.  It stars Catherine Bell (0f Army Wives) along with others making up a superb cast.  These are all feel good movies, and this latest installment does not disappointment.  Was interesting to watch the previews for all the upcoming new Christmas movies that Hallmark Channel will start rolling out next weekend.  The kind of movies where you want to get comfy under the blanket with a warm (0r cold) drink and just enjoy.  This is for the gals!!
