Federer over Murray in London..if you missed it…well..

Today in London, at the ATP Year End Finals, Roger Federer dismantled Andy Murray 6-0, 6-1 and if you missed it..well you flat out missed greatness on display.  This match featured 33 year old Roger Federer in all his glory, absolutely brilliant and in full flight as to why he is widely (in my mind, there is NO question) considered the GOAT and without question the greatest indoor tennis player in the world (yes, still the best!)  This match was a letdown for those who wanted to see a great, hard fought competitive match, but it was also kind of funny that in many ways, even though it was in London, (Andy is Scottish, adopted as a Brit) it was a home court crowd for Federer.  Wherever Roger plays, it is almost always a home court advantage.  It was really something to see when it comes to watching tennis perfection.  At one point, even Roger’s wife Mirka was shown on the screen, almost shaking her head at one of Roger’s brilliant shots.  So too were Stefan Edberg and S. Luthi along with the rest of the crowd in the O2 arena.  Anyhow, K Nishikori now advances along with Federer out of Group B into the semifinals on Saturday.  Tomorrow’s action will feature Group A, and we shall see if Wawrinka can join Djokovic in the semifinals from Group A.  Today, Nishikori won over David Ferrer (filling in for M. Raonic who had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury) 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.  Hey, it is hard to get a last minute call and head to London to play one match in the Year End Finals!

Meanwhile, a lot of great CFB in store this weekend.  Most notably, 1 Miss State at 5 Alabama (College GameDay will be in Tuscaloosa), 9 Auburn at 15 UGA, 3 FSU at Miami, 6 Arizona State at Oregon State, 23 Utah at Stanford, 8 Ohio State at 25 Minnesota, 16 Nebraska at 24 Texas A & M, Virginia Tech at 21 Duke, and…19 Clemson at 22 Georgia Tech (that is where I will be, noon kick off on ESPN immediately after GameDay).  I hope I got the latest College Football Playoff Poll rankings correct, apologies to all if not!

Tonight…too much must see TV so DVR must be activated!  Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, Parenthood, Big Bang Theory, Mom and Two and a Half Men!

Finally, Wednesday came and went again, (that happens from time to time) so please check out my book Surviving “Paradise” by Susan Willoch Shaver!  See the HOME page at this website for more info and also check out the BUY THE BOOK option on the menu bar!

Have a great night!

Oregon #2 in latest CFB Playoff Rankings!

All Right, All Right, All Right!  Oregon has moved to #2 in the latest edition of the new College Football Playoff rankings!  Yes, I am happy!  GO DUCKS! (And Mariota for Heisman!!)

1 Miss State, 2 Oregon, 3 FSU, 4 TCU (surprise? not Bama?) 5 Alabama, 6 Arizona State (how about the Pac 12!) 7 Baylor, 8 Ohio State, 9 Auburn (highest ranked two loss team), 10 Ole Miss, 11 UCLA, 12 Michigan State, 13 Kansas State, 14 Arizona, 15 UGA, 16 Nebraska, 17 LSU (3 losses), 18 Notre Dame, 19 Clemson, 20 Wisconsin, 21 Duke, 22 Georgia Tech (GO JACKETS!), 23 Utah, 24 Texas A&M, and 25 Minnesota.

Interesting movement, Oregon over undefeated FSU, TCU over Bama as #4 and Arizona State is really coming on.  Not unhappy to see GT at #22.  Big games this weekend will certainly shake things up even more.  Miss State vs. Alabama (someone has got to lose!), Auburn vs. UGA, FSU vs. Miami, Arizona State vs. Oregon State, Utah vs. Stanford and yes, 19 Clemson at 22 Georgia Tech (I will be there!)

So, things got shaken and stirred after this weekend, look for more of that after this weekend’s action!

Meanwhile, in London, Roger Federer continued his quest for a 7th ATP Year End World title, defeating K. Nishikori, 6-3, 6-2.  Not the best of Federer, but certainly good enough for this win!  Murray over Raonic, 6-3, 7-5.  Roger is sure to advance into the semifinals, but he will face Murray day after tomorrow!

Tonight..New Girl, The Mindy Project, and Chicago Fire.  No About A Boy...until next week anyway.

Happy Veterans Day (thanks to all who served and are currently serving) and enjoy your night!

Latest CFB Polls..just for kicks!

OK..latest CFB Polls are out (except for the one that really matters, the College Football Playoff Poll which will come out Tuesday evening on ESPN).  Just for kicks and giggles, let’s have a look!

AP Poll: 1 Miss State (48), 2 FSU (12), 3 Oregon (I like it!), 4 Alabama, 5 TCU, 6 Baylor, 7 Arizona State, 8 Ohio State, 9 Auburn, and 10 Ole Miss.  (on a personal note, GT at #24)

USA Today Coaches Poll: 1 Miss State (41), 2 FSU (20), 3 Alabama, 4 Oregon, 5 TCU, 6 Baylor, 7 Ohio State, 8 Arizona State, 9 Auburn, and 10 Ole Miss.  Again, GT #23.

ESPN Power Rankings: 1 Miss State (10), 2 FSU (1), 3 Oregon (2)!, 4 TCU, 5 Alabama, 6 Baylor, 7 Arizona State, 8 Ohio State, 9 Auburn, and 10 Ole Miss.  GT #23

So, the SEC West with Miss State and Alabama and the Pac 12 with Oregon and Arizona State looking pivotal!

Just thought I would toss these new polls out there for you guys!

In London, K. Nishikori took care of Andy Murray in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.  Roger Federer took the court, intense and maybe a bit angry to face M. Raonic (that defeat in Paris last month!) and won 6-1, 7-6.  So Group B has done their thing on day one.  Tomorrow Group A takes center stage.  S. Wawrinka vs. T. Berdych and N. Djokovic vs. M. Cilic.  Action just getting under way but promises to be a great final week of tennis action for this year.  Federer has won this event six times, and I would love to see him make it SEVEN!

Until later…

Bama over LSU in OT..and all that jazz!

Bama pulled off the improbable last night in the bayou..coming from behind to tie up the game in Death Valley with LSU 13-13 and then winning the game in OT, 20-13.  And all that jazz (think Bourbon Street!)  So, 5 Bama rolled while 16 LSU suffered a home loss and that is only the start of all of Saturday’s chaos and how it impacts the playoff picture!

Let’s start at the top..1 Miss State ran all over Tennessee Martin 45-16..a cupcake game.  The other team from Mississippi, 11 Ole Miss played their cupcake game against Presbyterian and won 48-0.  But hey, after that heartbreaking loss and the way it went down last weekend at home against Auburn, give them a cupcake, they deserve it.  Speaking of 3 Auburn, oh the heartbreak they suffered losing to Texas A&M at home (breaking their fourteen consecutive game winning streak on the Plains), going down 41-38 in a wild and crazy game.  Two late fumbles cost Auburn the comeback win as the Aggies led most of the game.  Quite a performance by the true freshman QB Kyle Allen for the Aggies, filling in for the suspended Kenny Hill.

4 Oregon got off to a bit of a fumbling start (literally) but came on strong to win over 17 Utah on the road, 51-27.  Very nice game for Marcus Mariota (Heisman?)  Should keep the Ducks in the next “top four” in the College Football Playoff rankings which come out this Tuesday.  6 TCU was very impressive in their win over 7 Kansas State, 31-14 so wonder if they will make the top four?  14 Ohio State had a strong performance on the road over 8 Michigan State, winning 48-31 and will move up, but how much?  12 Baylor embarrassed 15 Oklahoma in their house, 48-14 and 19 Arizona took care of Colorado 38-20.  Speaking of the Pac 12, 9 Arizona State is for real and showed just how good they are with a 55-31 victory over visiting 10 Notre Dame.  Horrible game for QB Golson, four interceptions and the Fighting Irish had five turnovers.  Hard to win when you turn the ball over five times, especially against a team as good as Arizona State.  Great performance by Arizona State QB Taylor Kelly.  Thinking perhaps a Oregon vs. Arizona State Pac 12 Championship game?  Still a game or two to be played but…Staying in the Pac 12, 19 UCLA defeated Washington 44-30 and the other team from LA, USC was idle.

Moving to the ACC, 24 Georgia Tech rolled over NC State in Raleigh, 56-23.  The Jackets had 549 yards of offense and will welcome Clemson to Grant Field next Saturday for a noon kickoff on ESPN.  (I will be there, so look for pics and updates!)  The Dukies continue to roll (darn that loss by GT to Duke) defeating Syracuse 27-10 and they are in the driver’s seat in the Coastal Division.  2 FSU started slow as they have done all season, but then caught fire and took care of UVA in Tally, 31-20.

Other notable games, Texas upset 23 West Virginia 33-16 and 20 UGA recovered from their loss to the Gators with a 63-31 beat down of Kentucky.  Next up for UGA, an angry Auburn team!!

Will be very interesting to see how the College Football Playoff committee figures out their rankings this Tuesday.  Also, the SEC West is going to come down to this Saturday’s game between Alabama and Miss State.  Looks like UGA might be the team in the SEC East, but Missouri is currently on top in that division.

Today, ATP Year End Finals from London are underway!  K. Nishikori defeated Andy Murray in straight sets in the first match of Group B, 6-4, 6-4.  At 3:00 EST, Mr. Federer will play M. Raonic.  Hoping for a very different result from their last meeting in Paris where Raonic upset Roger.  GO FED!  This event, round robin format, will be the final tennis event on the calendar for 2014.  (Except for the Davis Cup Final – Switzerland vs. France in France)

Denver and Peyton play at 0-8 Oakland later this afternoon, so I am thinking Federer vs. Raonic will be my choice for Sunday afternoon delight!

Tonight, The Good Wife on CBS and The Affair on Showtime (people are talking about this show!)

Later and enjoy your Sunday afternoon.  (After Saturday…we need rest!)

College Football Playoff Top 25..Quack..Quack!

The second College Football Playoff Top 25 is out and at last..Quack..Quack!  Yes, the Oregon Ducks have entered the “final four”!  It is about time!

1 Miss State, 2 FSU, 3 Auburn, 4 OREGON, 5 Alabama, 6 TCU, 7 Kansas State, 8 Michigan State, 9 Arizona State (will play Oregon), 10 Notre Dame, 11 Ole Miss (just a cruel loss at home last Saturday to Auburn), 12 Baylor, 13 Nebraska,  14 Ohio State, 15 Oklahoma, 16 LSU, 17 Utah, 18 UCLA, 19 Arizona, 20 UGA, 21 Clemson, 22 Duke, 23 West Virginia, 24 GEORGIA TECH (How ’bout those Jackets!) and 25 Wisconsin.

OK, still a ways to go but have to say I am so glad to see Oregon in the top four.  Alabama and TCU are lurking for sure.  Oregon has a tough road ahead, Arizona State (9) on the horizon.  FSU, well I guess they are both lucky and good.  Winston will have his “day” before the school council around Nov. 17th.  Um..wonder what will come of that?  Meanwhile, class act Mariota keeps things rolling for the Ducks (Heisman?)  On a personal note…how about those Jackets..Georgia Tech at #24 and 7-2.  Again, if only they had not lost to Duke (#22).  Kansas State is in the hunt and will play a huge game this Saturday against TCU.  Speaking of this Saturday’s big games…

4 Oregon vs. 17 Utah, 5 Alabama vs. 16 LSU, 7 Kansas State vs. 6 TCU (WOW!), 10 Notre Dame vs. 9 Arizona State (good one!), 12 Baylor vs. 15 Oklahoma, 14 Ohio State vs. 8 Michigan State, Colorado vs. 19 Arizona, 20 UGA vs. Kentucky, 22 Duke vs. Syracuse, 23 West Virginia, vs. Texas, 24 Georgia Tech vs. NC State and 25 Wisconsin vs. Purdue.  It never gets dull!!cropped-ss_gt_photo.png

Whew…also on Sunday, November 9th the Year End Finals (tennis) get underway in London.  It is all about Roger Federer for me!!

Kobe in action tonight as the Suns play the Lakers in LA.  Also, the Heat are rolling without LeBron, 3-0 with Wade and Bosh.

Tonight..New Girl, The Mindy Project, and my personal favorite..About A Boy!

Later..

CFB Week 10..the agony and the ecstasy

CFB week ten was full of the agony and the ecstasy..for those of you who are a bit “older”, you all remember the theme from the show The Wild World of Sports..the agony of defeat, the thrill of victory!  Well, this week in CFB had it all and then some!  #1 Miss State returned to action and the “new #1” barely survived at home against Arkansas, winning 17-10.  Meanwhile, the other team from Mississippi, 4 Ole Miss, had a very rough outing for the second week in a row.  Last week the Rebels went down in Death Valley to LSU, 7-10.  This week they were at home in Oxford and 3 Auburn came a calling.  It was a thrilling game, back and forth and one felt whoever had the ball last would win.  Ole Miss seemed to go ahead on a TD pass to WR Treadwell, but NO…double agony.  Not only did he lose the ball going down prior to crossing the plane of the endzone, he suffered a fractured leg and broken ankle.  You just cannot be serious.  The heartache for the Rebels…Auburn wins 35-31.  Costly turnovers for Ole Miss and a lot of penalties for Auburn were the story of this game.  While on the subject of broken legs, Washington State QB Halliday, having a fine senior season also suffered a broken leg in their 44-17 loss and his career at Washington State is officially over.  Meanwhile, Oregon should have played their way into the “final four” in this week’s College Football Playoff poll with a win over nemesis Stanford, 44-16.  Marcus Mariota was responsible for four TDs, two passing and two rushing.  He should be the Heisman frontrunner!!  (Dak Prescott of Miss State had some nice numbers but two interceptions and a close call at home!)

In a crazy game in Morgantown, WV, TCU came from behind (trailing the entire game to WVU) to kick a game winning field goal as time expired to win, 31-30.  Unbelievable!  Meanwhile at the largest outdoor cocktail party in the US, Jacksonville, FL, the once mighty Gators reared up and knocked down the #11 Bulldogs from UGA, 38-20.  The Gators had two tailbacks with almost 200 yards rushing and no one, and I mean no one except Tim Tebow predicted this outcome!  Kind of funny to me (I am afterall, a GT fan!)  Speaking of the Jackets, they dominated UVA in Atlanta, 35-10 and oh, if not for that loss to Duke, they would be looking really good for the ACC Coastal Division title.  Take nothing away from Duke (defeated Pitt in 2OT, 51-48), but if there is a team in the Coastal Division that could give FSU fits, it is Georgia Tech in an ACC Championship game.  Still, more games to be played.

Baylor put up 60 points in their win over Kansas, and USC defeated Washington State, 44-17 (QB Halliday lost for Washington State with a broken leg).  UCLA continues to survive and defeated Arizona 17-7 at home.  Meanwhile, Arizona State won at home in a thriller over Utah, 19-16.  Missed field goals, then made field goals.  Isn’t college football great?  So, there is of course all the noise about the SEC, especially the SEC West, but the Pac 12 is really competitive and stirring things up.  Meanwhile, who is going to win the SEC East?

The AP Poll is out! 1 Miss State (45), 2 FSU (15), 3 Auburn, 4 Alabama (really, not Oregon?), 5 Oregon, 6 TCU, 7 Michigan State, 8 Notre Dame (winner over Navy), 9 Kansas State, and 10 Baylor.  Arizona State is at #11, Ole Miss dropped from #4 to #12, harsh!, UGA fell to #17, UCLA is at #18, Arizona is #21, and the Dukies are #22.  Georgia Tech received 15 votes (yeah!).

Tuesday, the next College Football Playoff Poll will be announced on ESPN.  Better see Oregon in that top four this week!

It is snowing in New England today, and at 4:25 pm EST we get another viewing of Manning vs. Brady as the Broncos visit the Pats.  Go Peyton!  Go Broncos!

In tennis..Novak Djokovic won the title in Paris, defeating M. Raonic of Canada, 6-2, 6-3.  Nole is all but assured of finishing the year at #1.  Still, there is the Year End Finals in London week after next and I do expect Roger Federer to give him a run for the money (title)!  GO FED!

OK, what a Saturday it was!  Ready to settle in and watch Peyton Manning and the Broncos play on the frozen filed in New England.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Congrats to the San Francisco Giants

Congrats to the San Francisco Giants…winning the World Series last night in game seven over the Kansas City Royals, 3-2.  What a performance by Giants pitcher Bumgarner in this series!  The Giants win their third World Series in the past five years…WOW!!  Also, congrats to my good buddy Turk (scout for San Fran) and that brings me to the other business of yesterday..my book Surviving “Paradise” by Susan Willoch Shaver.  Check out my buddy Turk in the chapter Beach Gang.  See the HOME page at this website for more info and the BUY THE BOOK option on the menu bar.Surviving Paradise

Meanwhile, tennis in Paris was underway today.  Three of the “big four” advanced into the quarterfinals tomorrow, Federer, Djokovic (noticed I reversed that order of ranking) and Murray (looking better than he has in awhile).  Wawrinka fell in three sets to Kevin Anderson and Nishikori took out J. Tsonga in three sets.  Action continues tomorrow on Tennis Channel.  GO FED!

Tonight on Thursday CFB, 2 FSU at Louisville.  Could there be an upset?  0-0 at this early point in the first half.  On Sunday, Manning vs. Brady again, as the Broncos visit the Pats in New England.  GO PEYTON!

NBA season underway and last night the Lakers looked, well they looked unfortunately bad against the Rockets, losing by a lot.  Kobe looked good and he and Dwight Howard had a bit of a tussle…don’t think these two ever really got along.  Tonight, Melo and the Knicks come to visit King James and the Cavs in Cleveland.  Nice to have NBA action back in the mix, along with CFB, NFL and tennis!

TV tonight, no Grey’s Anatomy but Bones is on FOX.  I really love this show, what have I been missing?!  Also Parenthood at 10:00 pm EST on NBC in it’s farewell season!

I have had one really bad day…you all know it happens so I am going to bid you all a good night and wish you (and me) a better day tomorrow…TGIF!

Later!

Update: Louisville 7 – FSU 0 in the second quarter!

Weekend sports wrap up..

Weekend sports wrap up and where do I begin?  Let’s start with America’s past time..Baseball.  The World Series!  Game four last night from the beautiful city by the Bay saw San Francisco come from behind to even the series against the Kansas City Royals at two games a piece, San Fran winning last night 11-4!!  No Bumgarner but wait and see for tonight as game five will air at 8:00 pm EST.  After this game, it is back to Kansas City!

Next up tennis and that means, of course, Roger Federer!  Federer won the Swiss Indoors Tournament (Masters 500 event) in Basel (the town of his birth) for the 6th time playing in his 11th final there, 6-2, 6-2 over the comeback kid D. Goffin.  Great tournament for Goffin but it was a Master Class by the maestro!  Federer has had an incredible year in 2014, no Grand Slam trophy (oh, if only that five set match at Wimbledon against Djokovic could have gone the other way!) but he has won more tournaments than anyone on tour and now has pulled to within 500 points of Djokovic for the world number one ranking!  Next up, Paris Masters 1000 event and then onto London for the Year End Finals.  Let’s not forget, after London, Switzerland will play at France for the Davis Cup final!!  Quite a year for Mr. Federer, not to mention expanding the #FedFamily to six, twin boys added in March to join twin daughters (now five years old).  Quite a year for the thirty three year GOAT!

Not to forget about the Ladies, Serena Williams will finish the year at #1 yet again after winning the WTA Year End title in Singapore, defeating S. Halep, 6-3, 6-0.  Serena suffered a humiliating defeat earlier in the week at the hand of Halep but turned the tables in the one the really mattered.  Also want to congratulate Caroline Wozniacki who really finished strong this year after suffering some difficult times personally!  You go Caro!

Now the news that most everyone was watching this weekend, CFB results!  Miss State, the new #1 in the rankings returned to action after a week off and defeated Kentucky, 45-31.  The other team from Mississippi, the 3 Ole Miss Rebels were not so lucky…falling in Death Valley to LSU, 10-7.  Great defensive performance by the Tigers.  Many a dream has fallen short on the field in Baton Rouge.  So much for an undefeated season for Ole Miss.  But to be fair, not sure any SEC team, especially any SEC West team will go undefeated!  Alabama took care of Tennessee, 34-20 and Auburn prevailed in a close one over South Carolina on the plains, 42-35 (was there a controversial no penalty?).  Kansas State continued their impressive season with a 23-0 victory over Texas in Austin.  A big weekend for the teams from the west coast, Pac 12 and yes, they do play some really great college football on the west coast!

Oregon took care of business on Friday night, traveling to take on the California Bears and winning 59-41.  Marcus Mariota had seven TD passes and broke the career passing yard record at Oregon.  I love the Ducks!  UCLA won in a thriller, double OT over Colorado, 40-37.  The Bruins are a conundrum.  USC fell on the road at Utah, 24-21.  The Trojans are a team that perplexes as well.  Or, perhaps, the Pac 12 is very competitive like the SEC and they just beat up on each other also?  Arizona State won at Washington, 24-10 and Arizona defeated Washington State (0n the road) 59-37.  West Virginia continues to show they are team to be reckoned with, winning at OK State, 34-10.  Michigan State (remember, they lost to Oregon) took care of instate rival Michigan, 35-11 and the ACC Coastal Division continued to show why it is a mystery…UNC coming from behind to defeat UVA 28-27 and Georgia Tech recovering from a two week malaise to trounce Pitt on the road, 56-28.  Pitt managed five fumbles in the first quarter alone!  GO JACKETS!  And then that team from Texas, TCU scored 82 (yes, 82 points) in defeating Texas Tech, 82-27.

One significant injury, Miss State QB Dak Prescott left the field in a walking boot but it was called a “precautionary measure”…we shall see!

Latest AP and Coaches Polls are out!  AP Poll: 1 Miss State (46), 2 FSU (14), 3 Alabama, 4 Auburn, 5 Oregon (yes), 6 Notre Dame (glad to see the Irish still up there after defeating FSU, no wait that was a loss?), 7 Ole Miss, 8 Michigan State, 9 UGA and 10 TCU.  Kansas State and Baylor are lurking at #11 and #12.

Coaches Poll: 1 Miss State (41), 2 FSU (21), 3 Alabama, 4 Auburn, 5 Michigan State, 6 Oregon (again, Oregon defeated Michigan State), 7 Notre Dame, 8 UGA, 9 Ole Miss, and 10 TCU.  Again, Kansas State and Baylor at #11 and #12 respectively.

The first (ever) College Football Playoff top twenty five will be announced this Tuesday, 10/28/14.  There will be an entire show on ESPN devoted to the announcement.  This should be good!

TV tonight…new episode of The Good Wife on CBS at 9:00 pm EST and then The Affair on Showtime at 10:00 pm EST.  I am still bummed ABC cancelled Betrayal (10:00 pm time slot) but this new show airing on Showtime is pretty enticing.  Kind of has a bit of that True Detective intrigue to it.  OK, I am tired of writing, you guys are tired of reading..so enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Busy Surviving Paradise Wednesday!

It is Wednesday, Surviving Paradise Day, and is is a busy one!!  First off…the matter of the day, promoting my book/story Surviving “Paradise” Surviving Paradise by Susan Willoch Shaver.  Follow a southern woman who relocates to a new town (in southwest Florida) full of great expectations – only to be met by a ridiculous set of people and circumstances.  It is sure to bring a chuckle and perhaps some experiences one can relate to??  See the HOME page at this website and the BUY THE BOOK option on the menu bar!

Moving onto Sports..so much going on!  World Series underway and the Kansas City Royals hosted the San Francisco Giants in game one last night.  What a performance by Bumgarner for the Giants and San Fran took game one 7-1.  The Royals are no longer undefeated in playoff action!

Tennis action from Basel, Switzerland.  The hometown boy, number one in our hearts, Roger Federer took the court today and was in full flow!  He took care of G. Muller 6-2, 6-0 and it was the beautiful game on display.  Next up for Federer..D. Istomin.  Rafael Nadal took on qualifier Herbert of France and continued to look very impressive, winning 6-2, 6-2.  One can hope we are headed for a Nadal – Fed final.  Dimitrov won in three sets and the other Swiss guy, Stan the man Wawrinka fell in three sets.  Noticeably missing from courtside, Roger’s wife Mirka.  She also was not at Shanghai.  But, there are four kids now and the times are a changing.  One thing not changing, Roger Federer looking very good as we head towards the Masters event in Paris and the Year End Finals in London.

Novak Djokovic announced the birth of his first child, a boy, named Stefan.  Congrats!  He has announced his intention to compete in both Paris and at the Year End Finals in hopes of keeping his #1 ranking.  Federer is hot in pursuit.

At the WTA Year End Finals in Singapore, a lot of upsets have been taking place.  Yesterday, Sharapova fell to Wozniacki in three sets.  Way to go Caro!  Today, Halep demolished Serena Williams, 6-0, 6-2, shocker!  Halep was nearly perfect in her performance.  Ivanovic defeated Bouchard in two sets.  Also, Radwanska defeated Kvitova yesterday.  Action continues in both these events tomorrow!

Tonight, The Mysteries of Laura airs on NBC at 8:00 pm EST and then Nashville at 10:00 pm EST on ABC.  Does anyone else out there enjoy About A Boy on Tuesdays just before Chicago Fire as much as I do?

Over and out for now!
